Urban Matter Inc

Urban Matter Inc is an interdisciplinary experience design studio that transforms environments into experiences through storytelling, data visualizations, and participation. 

Before that, Shagun worked in acclaimed innovation and multi-media studios like frog, Method Inc, 2x4, Antenna Design and Local Projects as a user experience designer. Her experience also includes working for the architecture office Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and American Museum of Natural History as an architectural designer. She received her Master's Degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at Tisch School of Arts, NYU and did her undergrad at the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology at Ahmedabad, India. 

In the last four years, She has worked on a wide variety of experimental art projects; from Silent Lights, an interactive urban light installation in Downtown Brooklyn, to Airbare, an urban sensing public art project that showcases air quality data in Louisville, Kentucky, to Play Array, a participatory pong game that allows users to play virtual pong on storefront facade using a smartphone to control the paddle. 

In 2016, she debuted her first permanent public art piece in Austin, Texas called Golden Afternoon, and is working on another large scale permanent public art piece in the city of Denver, Colorado called Blue Print which goes up in Nov 2018. Shagun is passionate about participatory design and its impact on the urban environment.
